PM Realty Chooses CWS For DOJ D.C. Security Film Project

WASHINGTON - PM Realty Group, one of the country’s leading property development and management companies, has retained Commercial Window Shield to install shatter resistant window film at 810 7th St. NW in Washington.  The U.S. Department of Justice occupies the 7-story, 262,000 sq. ft. building.

The project, mandated by the General Services Administration as part of its lease renewal building security plan, involves installing more than 20,000 sq. ft. of 8-mil tinted security film on more than 1,400 windows with a wet glaze attachment system. 

Following a bid process and the installation of film mock-ups on the building by the competing companies, CWS was selected based on a combination of price and experience. 

Although PM Realty was only required to install a clear window film, Commercial Window Shield demonstrated the potential energy savings by using a tinted film. As a result, PM will recoup its cost in a few years.

The high-security and busy building has required a flexible film installation schedule, with installers working after hours to avoid disruption of the work day.  The project is underway and is expected to be completed on-time in mid-June.
